Comments on: #73. Lawyers often employ a multiplier. Thus, meetings are billed at twice the length when they’re twice as annoying.

You'd think that the "nervous Nelly" clients would be the new ones, the ones who have never been involved in a lawsuit before. And although clients who are new to litigation are certainly skittish, they can usually be talked down from their trees.

The crazy ones -- the ones who don't listen, give conflicting instructions, take things personally, and let their hot tempers get the better of them -- are more often experienced business people. It's not that they DON'T know what litigation is. They know, they don't like it, and they express their displeasure volubly.
