		<description>Concerning personal service, it can be waived in particular circumstances, and I think you&#039;d be able to get court-permission to subserve if it was a people-eating goblin. Depends on how pragmatic the judge is.

Concerning boring the heck out of clients, it really IS an effective way to gently dissuade a rash decision. No one wants to act, much less act rashly, once a lawyer has pontificated for an hour or so. At that point, it&#039;s just survival instincts kicking in: people rushing for the bathrooms, and caffeine, and their cell phones.</description>
